Many times, children with mental handicap show behaviour that is considered problematic because of the harm or inconvenience they cause to others or to the child himself. The presence of behaviour problem in children may be a strain on teachers, parents and others concerned. Besides, they may interfere with activities in the home/classroom settings.

This behaviour problem could be due to a number of reasons like, deficits in adaptive behavioural skills, cognitive skills or problem solving skills etc.
