Summer
Workshop 2006
The Annual Therapeutic Summer Workshop, held from 9th May
to 2nd June, 2006, was organised by Four Steps for the special
children of various schools of Delhi. The objective of the
workshop was to give special children the opportunity to
enhance their innate creativity and other skills by spending
time productively.
Students
were given training in various arts and crafts on the basis
of their level of dependence. The Totally Independent group
of students were engaged in high caliber activities like
general knowledge, quiz, photography, clay modeling, therapeutic
dance, music, designer candle making and creative gift wrapping
paper. The students in Partially Dependent group were involved
with therapeutic dance, music, art & craft and games.
The
students in Dependent group, the ones who require constant
supervision, were engaged in various activities of play
therapy and recreational medium, including rhymes, action
rhymes, fun games, block printing, leaf printing, finger
printing, hand printing, thread printing, vegetable printing,
collage work, Origami, and spray printing..
Hip Hip Hooray for Shimla!
On the completion of the workshop, the students were taken
for a five day outstation trip to Shimla. The main objective
of this excursion was to help the students become more independent
emotionally and, simultaneously, give a major boost to their
self-confidence.
