Holi,
as usual, meant lots of colours,sweets and games for four
steps.The student participated in an Inter- school dance
and singing competition held at YMCA, Nizamuddin on march
23, 2006. The theme of the competition was ‘Seasons
of India’.Pranav participated in the dance competition
and won the second prize, Kunal, Ankita, Yakshita and Shivangi
took part in the singing competition and won the third prize.
One
of the highlights of the month of April, 2006 was the Four
Steps Night Stay programme for students, which seeks to
build confidence in independent living. The students stayed
back in school on two consecutive days, April 19 and 20,
2006, accompanied by their teachers for overseeing their
activities. Woven into the fun and games was the sense of
togetherness and other important inputs on independence,
which is necessary to be built into the lives of the children.
The
children’s visit to Indira Gandhi National Centre
for Arts on April 20,2006 was meant for both building peace
projects as well as getting exposure to creative excellence.
Four Steps children participated in a spelling competition
held at VSAI on April 21, 2006. More than winning or losing
the competition, it was the whole hearted participation
of the students that drew the applause.
Akshay
Utsav, a dance programme organized by Akshay Pratishthan
on April 22, 2006, was enjoyed equally by students and their
teachers. The Four Steps Stall, set up at the Blind Relief
Disability Mela on April 01, 2006 turned out to be quite
a success and a source of inspiration for all who visited
the Mela.
